Pakistani singer Mehnaz Begum passes away after protracted illness

mehnaz-begum-studioKARACHI: Famous Pakistani singer Mehnaz Begum has died on her way to the US in Bahrain after suffering from prolonged illness, the media reported on Saturday. 

 

According to reports, the late singer was on a flight to her brother in the US for treatment but died on the way in Bahrain. She was in the US for quite sometime as she was suffering from several ailments.

 

She was the daughter of famous sub-continental singer Kajjan Begum. Mehnaz was happily married and living in the US.

 

The late singer was known for ghazal, thumri, dadra, khayal, drupad and reciting salam, noha and marsiya.
