- The moves comes following a violent clash between the two sides.
A few days after a violent clash between the two sides on Monday, China has freed 10 Indian soldiers.
According to Indian media reports, the soldiers included a lieutenant-colonel and three majors. The released soldiers were medically examined and provided a preliminary debriefing, reports said. "They were returned unharmed," said The Hindu.
The release comes following several rounds of talks between the two countries.
On Monday, both sides fought with nail-studded batons and hurled rocks at each other. The fight in the Galwan Valley left at least 20 Indian soldiers dead. Later, an image emerged of the weapons allegedly used in the fight.
India said its soldiers were killed in a premeditated attack by Chinese troops, however, the other side rejected the claims and blamed the frontline Indian soldiers for provoking the conflict
Following the clashes, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the deaths of the soldiers will not go in vain. "India wants peace but when provoked, India is capable of giving a fitting reply, be it any kind of situation."
Although the two sides have been clashing along the border, this clash was the first deadly one in 45 years.
