FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) is fully aware of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the provision of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) to the medical and paramedical staff deputed to look after the Covid-19 patients will continue, said FCCI president Rana Sikandar Azam Khan.

He was speaking at a function to hand over PPEs, face masks and shields for the medical staff of Allied Hospital and General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammad Abad. In this connection, a simple ceremony was held in the board room of FCCI which was attended by Ultimate Lions Club president Engr Ahmad Hassan and Crowns Lions Club president Azhar Chaudhary.

Rana Sikandar Azam Khan highlighted the efforts of FCCI members and said they have already played a pro-active role to serve the ailing humanity. He said our members have started their efforts to provide PPEs to the medical staff that is fighting against Corona Virus. Now with the help of Ultimate Lions Club and Crowns Clubs, 120 protective suits, 360 shields, 120 N-95 masks and three hundred 3-ply masks are being donated to the Allied Hospital. Similarly, 80 protective suits, 240 shields, 75 N-95 masks and two hundred 3-ply masks are being provided to the medical and paramedical staff to the General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammad Abad.

He further told that executive member Baber Shahzad will also provide 100 masks on need basis. He requested the doctors to communicate their immediate needs in writing so that their requirements could be fulfilled with the help of FCCI members. However, Rana Sikandar lamented that at this critical stage, some opportunists have intentionally created the shortage of medical equipments only to create the artificial shortage and loot the needy people. He said FCCI is not with these elements and administration should take immediate action against such anti-social elements.

He particularly thanked the presidents of Ultimate and Crowns Lions clubs and said FCCI is the best platform to organize CSR activities in an organized and scientific manner.

He urged the NGOs to utilize this platform to further expand their welfare activities.

Receiving the donation, Dr Akram of Allied Hospital thanked FCCI and said Covid-19 is a national challenge and we must stand united to fight it out. Dr Ijaz of General Hospital GM Abad urged the people for following SOPs to save them from this pandemic. He told that government as well as local philanthropists are providing them PPEs but some times a minor slackness infests the medical and paramedical staff with this disease.

He said we should remain vigilant and try to save ourselves from this disease. He warned that last week of June and first week of July will be very serious when the Covid-19 graph will jump up dramatically. Hence, we should take necessary precautionary measures to keep it under control.

Chaudhary Azhar of Crowns Lions Club said they would continue to provide the PPEs to the medical and paramedical staff fighting as front line solders against Corona Virus.
