SIALKOT: National Productivity Organization (NPO) Pakistan CEO Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry has said NPO in collaboration with Asian Productivity Organization (Tokyo) has launched online programmes for capacity building of professionals as alternative of physical face to face class room trainings.

The basic concept of this online programme was to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 while continuing the activity of capacity building of professionals which is important aspect of any economy, he added. He said these online services will help to minimize the barriers due to current situation developed by Covid-19 adding that it will also minimize the negative impact on creation and application as well as sharing of new knowledge.

In fact NPO is endeavoring to take initiatives for continuity of productivity promotion during the uncertain period of Covid-19 pandemic, which has disrupted our lives in several ways, he said.

Talking to the media on Sunday, he added that Asian Productivity Organization (APO) is playing a pivotal role in transforming member economies and has introduced several programmes on smart transformation for industry, public sector, agriculture and services sectors.

Alamgir lauded the efforts of APO team, NPO team members and stakeholders especially that the PEC involved in the project. All economic sectors could accrue substantial improvement in productivity by adopting knowledge management techniques in system development technologies handling, production process and services. He further added that any crisis presents the opportunity to help us learn, cultivate compassion and increase resilience while building a safer and caring community.

Alamgir further added that the concept of online programmes was to prevent the spread of Covid-19 while continuing the activity of capacity building of professionals that is also very important aspect of any economy. The online services will help to minimize the barriers due to current situation created by Covid-19 and it will also reduce the negative impact on creation and application as well as sharing of new knowledge he said.

In this context National Productivity Organization in collaboration with APO and local stakeholders including Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and Fatima Jinnah Women University (Karachi) organized a programme on 'Knowledge Management' for multiplying effect and to faster the replication of knowledge shard by the international expert from UK Ron Young. Arsyoni Buana Programme Officer Member Country Service Division in country directorate Japan appreciated the efforts of NPO Pakistan and said the programme was up to mark and offered more such online training sessions on new topics.
