Disney has just confirmed that a sequel of their mega hit live-action remake of ‘Aladdin’ is in the works, following the massive success of the prequel last summer.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise for the fans after all the movie grossed over $1 billion worldwide this past summer, now, the Disney is developing a follow-up feature film to ‘Aladdin’ with writers John Gatins and Andrea Berloff.

However, whether director Guy Ritchie will return or not remains a mystery. Producers hope to bring back stars Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott, but reports state that offers won’t be extended to the cast until a script is ready.

The film will be a theatrical release, not a Disney Plus title.
