The Accountability Court on Thursday fixed the first corruption reference in the fake bank accounts scam against former Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Muhammad Hussain Syed and eight other officials for hearing on April 19. Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir also issued summonses to all the suspects, including former administrator KMC Karachi and others to appear before it.
The eight other officials include Matanat Ali Khan, former metropolitan commissioner KMC, Sami-ud-Din Siddiquee, former metropolitan commissioner KMC, Najam-Uz-Zaman former director Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Wing KMC, Syed Khalid Zafar Hashmi, additional director (APC) KDA Wing KMC, Syed Jamil Ahmed, assistant director (APC) KDA Wing KMC, Abdul Rasheed, assistant director (APC) KDA Wing KMC, Abdul Ghani, assistant director (APC) KDA Wing KMC, and Younus Kidwai, director M/s Programme who is reportedly a close aide of former President Asif Ali Zardari. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed the first corruption reference in the Accountability Court on April 3 following the approval of NAB executive board meeting (EBM).
