ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar condemned Israel’s recent decisions to expand control over the West Bank, continued ceasefire violations, illegal settlement activities, and attempts to alter the status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
Ishaq Dar said this during the UN Security Council’s briefing on Palestine in New York. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Thursday, Ishaq Dar called for immediate halt and reversal of all Israeli actions.
He expressed hope that the Board of Peace, constituted under the framework of UNSC resolution 2803, would lead to concrete steps toward a permanent ceasefire, scaled-up humanitarian assistance, and reconstruction of Gaza.
He underscored the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination through a credible, time-bound political process, in line with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions — culminating in an independent, sovereign and contiguous State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
