Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has announced to extend incentive package for industries under which reconnection of industrial connection will be allowed after payment of 50 percent of the defaulting amount. A spokesman of Wapda said here on Monday that the Authority has modified clause-8 of the incentive package for industries.
Under this modification, industries have been allowed to re-avail of the package after payment of 50pc of the defaulting amount as a first instalment for reconnection whereas the remaining 50pc amount will be recovered in three instalments.
However, billing will be made after every fortnight to avoid accumulation of bills on the current consumption following reconnection till the total outstanding dues are cleared. "If any industrial unit defaults in payment of the current monthly bill or instalment, the connection of that unit will be disconnected without giving any notice required under normal practice," he said, adding, "the said incentive package can be availed up to December 31, 2005."
