imageGoogle search app is now much faster loading articles instantly for its iOS users from today onwards.

“Your Google app for iPhone and iPad is now faster. We’ve cut down loading time and updated the app with some new features,” wrote Unni Narayanan, Google Director, and Product Management in a blog post.

The company claimed that some new speed improvements and performance optimizations will save users "a combined 6.5 million hours" this year. "Each time you open the app or do a search, everything will load just a bit quicker," the post added.

Other than the fact that the app itself is getting faster, Google is also introducing the ‘Accelerated Mobile Pages’ (AMP). What is this AMP, you may ask, well it’s sort of an answer to Facebook’s Instant Articles.

According to The Verge, the AMP will allow you tap on a story from any publication or news outlet, which is participating in AMP, and the complete article will load up instantly. The report added that the AMP-optimized stories are designated with a lightning bolt icon and appear in the top stories section of search results.

“AMP will be available in the Google app for iOS. So now news articles from a vast array of publishers will load instantly for your reading pleasure. Just look out for the lightning bolt and “AMP” next to articles in the “Top Stories” section of your search results and enjoy blazing-fast news,” Google said in the blog.
