ISLAMABAD,: Attaching top priority to construction of new highways and motorways in the country, the government has released Rs111562.943 million for National Highway Authority, Ministry of Communications under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2014-15 till January 23.
According to a source in Planning Commission Rs76429.943 million have been released in local currency while Rs35133.000 million have been given in shape of foreign aid.
Rs5000 have been released for 200 kilometer of Gwadar-Hoshab section and 143 km Khuzdar-Larkana section of Gwadar-Ratodero Motorway, thesource said adding Rs4000 million have been released for construction of Faisalabad-Khanewal Expressway (M-4).
As many as Rs2800.000 million have been released for construction of Hassanabdal-Mansehra Expressway (E-35),he said. Moreover Rs4000 million have been released for 200 km Ratodero-Dadu Sehwan section of road with support of JICA.
The government has released Rs3963.000 million for rehabilitation of NHA Highway network damaged by 2010 floods, he informed.
Rs30,000 million have been released for 959 km Karachi-Lahore Motorway(KLM) land acquisition, relocation of utilities and compensation ,while Rs6,000.000 have been released for Lahore-Abdul Hakeem-Khanewal section of KLM. Rs5500.000 have been released for Multan-Sukkur section of KLM, and Rs3000.000 given for Sukkur-Hyderabad section of the KLM.
Rs4500.000 have been released for Raikot-Islamabad section of Karakoram Highway (KKH),he said.
