imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Tuesday directed the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government to make arrangements for holding local government (LG) elections in one month.

The directive was issued when the three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed hearing the case regarding KPK LG polls, was informed that delimitations had been completed in the province.

During the course of proceedings, KPK Advocate General Latif Yusufzai apprised the court that the provincial government had completed the delimitation process. It had also issued the schedule of rules and regulations for local government elections.

He said the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government had implemented the Supreme Court's decision of March 10 and it was waiting for SC decision regarding delimitations in Punjab and Sindh.

Upon this, the Chief Justice said the decision about delimitations in Punjab and Sindh would be announced as soon the KPK completed arrangements for the elections.

The hearing of the case was adjourned for one month.
