Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Managing Director Wasim Khan revealed that Imam-ul Haq is regretful for the leaked chat controversy that embroiled the Pakistan cricket circuit.

“We have talked to Imam, he was apologizing for the mistake he committed, and he [Imam] said that there was some misunderstanding as well,” said Khan, while talking to local media.

“We have told him about the standards we expect from our Pakistani cricketers, the situation that Imam was in is not good for him as a cricketer well as for Pakistan.  We have told him that he is an ambassador and role model for Pakistan so this kind of behavior is not acceptable, he fully understands this and he will learn from his experience,” added the PCB’s MD.

Imam- ul-Haq’s leaked chat controversy stirred off a debate on social media. The whole incident started off when an anonymous user posted the screenshots of the cricketer's WhatsApp messages, accusing him of cheating on multiple women and exploiting them.

The screenshots have since gone viral on the internet and have divided the social media users, with many questioning the cricketer’s conduct while others criticising the girls involved.
