LHC warns pump stations of closure if they sell fuel to helmet-less bikers
The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered on Thursday to shut down all those petrol pump stations that are providing petrol to motorcycle riders not wearing helmets.
During the hearing, headed by Judge Ali Akbar Qureshi, the court directed all petrol pump stations to only provide petrol to bikers who are wearing helmets. The LHC has barred the stations from providing fuel to motorcycle riders not wearing a helmet.
The high court warned the fuel stations that their pumps would be sealed if they did not follow the court's orders, local media reported.
In its previous order in November, the high court had declared use of helmet compulsory for pillion riders from December 1. Judge Qureshi had ordered strict action against those riders who did not wear helmets
