UK's Johnson says no reason to change COVID-19 unlocking plans

On Monday, there will be a smaller change, allowing groups of 6 to meet up outside. Foreign travel will be banned until at least May 17, which is also the earliest date indoor hospitality and performance venues might re-open.
Although Johnson has outlined dates at which he plans to ease restrictions, he has been clear that it is "data, not dates" which will determine whether the unlocking can proceed to schedule.

In the previous week, the ONS estimated the prevalence to be one in 80 people. Johnson is set to set out his roadmap out of England's third national lockdown on Monday.

In the previous week, the ONS estimated the prevalence to be one in 65 people.

The ONS estimated that 1,122,000 people in England had the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the week to Jan 2.
London, the East of England and the South East have the highest percentage of positive cases that are compatible with the new variant of the virus.
