Prime Minister Jean Castex said his government wanted to ensure the French could return to school, get back to work and enjoy a social life "as normally as possible".
The worst thing of all would be that we sink because we did not get things moving amid a social and economic crisis.
Outlining his policy priorities, Castex did not say how the tax relief - long sought by companies - would be financed but said that French taxpayers would not be called on to pay more.
The crisis has confirmed that we must now transform our industry.
"We will ease taxes that weigh on producing in France," Castex added.
