KARACHI: Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge returned to her Royal duties and attended the Sports Personality of the Year Award.

 

Falling to acute morning sickness after announcing her pregnancy, the Duchess had been forced to cancel a number of events. However, she attended the four-hour sports event for forty-five minutes in her first public appearance.

 

She gave the Sports Personality of the Year award to Bradley Wiggins, the road and track racing cyclist, presented the Runner-up trophy to Olympic gold medalist, Jessica Ennis and also handed Lord Coe with a Lifetime Achievement award.

 

Prince William did not attend the event as sources said he was called back on duty as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot.

 

Sources also added that Middleton attended the event for a short time as she has been advised by her doctors that her situation could recur any time.
