ppp-flag 400PESHAWAR: Seasoned politician and Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Nighat Yasmin Orakzai (PMLQ) here Tuesday joined Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and expressed full confidence in the central and provincial leadership of her new party.

 

Announcing her decision to join PPP during a press conference here, Nighat Orakzai, who was elected on the ticket of PML-Q as MPA in KP Assembly said most of the mainstream political parties had contacted her after resignation from PML-Q Provincial Information Secretary.

 

But she decided to join PPP keeping in view meritorious sacrifices by Bhutto family for democracy and rights of people and its progressive and peoples welfare agenda.

 

"I have joined PPP without any condition and will work as its simple worker," she remarked. The woman lawmaker said she had resigned from PML-Q few days ago and expected that the party (PML-Q) leadership would redress her grievances but none of the leaders bothered to contact her and thus she was left with no choice but to part ways with it.

 

She said PPP is popular democratic political party of Pakistan and sacrifices and struggle of ZA Bhutto Shaheed and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed is not conceal from any one.

 

Nighat Orakzai also eulogized the political services of Saifullah Khan family.

 

Nighat Orakzai expressed full confidence in the PPP central and provincial leadershipand assured full support to them.

 

Welcoming Nighat Orkzai into fold of PPP, Khyber Pakthunkhwa Pakistan Peoples' Party President, Anwar Saifullah Khan said his party's political graph and popularity has increased manifold in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and people from cross sections of the society are joining it. He said joining of Nighat Orakzai will help strengthen the party in KP.

 

He said popularity of the party can be judged from the joining of seasoned politicians and lawmakers like Nighat Orakzai and former Minister Iftikhar Mohmand and more veteran politicians of the province will soon join PPP.

 

Anwar Saiful Khan said PPP will form governments in Central as well as all four provinces after sweeping the general elections.

 

He said PPP reconciliation policy has strengthened democracy and assemblies are nearer to complete its five year term unprecedented in the country's parliamentary history.

 

Anwar Saifullah Khan said party leadership has already started visits of different divisions and districts to inform masses about the PPP achievements and make close contact with them.

 

Deputy Speaker in National Assembly, Faisal Kairm Kundi, Excise and Taxation Minister, Liaquat Shabab and office bearers of KP PPP and provincial ministers belonging to PPP were present on this occasion.
