MCCI seeks extension of time to file ST return
RECORDER REPORT
MULTAN: Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) demanded of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the filing of sales tax return date as majority of the business community yet to file their returns.
MCCI President Mian Anis’A Sheikh on Saturday said online forms for filing the returns were available just a day before Eid and it was not possible for anyone to file their returns on due date which was August 24.
He said right after the holidays online system was too busy that only a few persons were able to file hence FBR should extend the date for the betterment of the national economy.
He said business community was willing to pay their taxes but government should facilitate it. He hoped FBR would acknowledge their request in the great interest of the country’s economy.
