Shipping activity at Port Qasim

business 400KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships C.V City of Beijing, C.V APL Atlanta, C.V OOCL Francisco and M.T Norags Napa carrying containers and chemicals were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.

Meanwhile another containers ship also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 64% on Thursday where nine ships namely C.V City of Beijing, C.V APL Atlanta, C.V OOCL Francisco, M.V Salta, M.V BBC Kosan, M.T Argent Daisy, M.T Bunga Lavender, M.T Norags Napa and M.T Braizo are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, General. cargo, palm oil, chemicals and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A record cargo handling was achieved at the Port on Thursday where a cargo volume of 135,733 tonnes, comprises 88,446 tonnes imports and 47,287 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,990 containers (1,648 imports and 2,342 exports TEUs) were handled during last 24 hours.

Five ships, C.V City of Beijing, C.V APL Atlanta, C.V OOCL Francisco, M.t Argent Daisy ana M.T Bunga Lavender sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships M.T Norags Napa and M.T Braizo are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

A total of five ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, M.T Southern Jaguar, M.T Chemroad Rose, M.T Long Chem and M.T Al-Kuwaitaih carrying containers, palm oil and diesel are expected to take berths at QICT MW-1, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Friday.

Three ships C.V MSC Ayala, C.V Dubai Express and C.V Asian trader are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday while another Ship C.V Maersk Carolina is due to arrive on Sunday, 1st July.
