Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday said that Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif's case is very serious and putting his name on the Exit Control List (ECL) is under consideration.

The minister while talking to media persons here said that he is monitoring the process of implementation on standard operating procedures (SOPs) himself and will visit every divisional headquarters to inspect safety measures.

Sheikh said, "We got permission to resume the train operation yesterday. Three trains will be run from Peshawar and another will be added if required. Sixty percent passengers will be carried."

The railways minister stressed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will complete his five-year tenure and is currently facing no political challenge. He said the National Accountability Bureau Amendment Ordinance will not come soon and the anti-graft body will take action against both the government and the opposition leaders by May 31.

The minister said that in view of SOPs, 30 trains will be run on May 20, Awam Express for Karachi at 08:30 AM on May 20, Jaffer Express for Quetta at 09:30 AM and Khyber Mail Express for Karachi at 11:00 PM, an official released issued here on Tuesday confirmed.

The minister said that if the people cooperated and implemented the SOP, they could add one more train. He said that we are very grateful to Prime Minister Imran Khan who allowed the running of trains in such conditions keeping in view of the

travel difficulties of poor people.

"We have no advantage or disadvantage, but this decision has been taken in the context of better public interest and provision of transport facilities," he further said.
