The move to designate April 5 as the International Day of Conscience has been taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. For the purpose, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on July 31, 2019, entitled "Promoting the Culture of Peace with Love and Conscience".

As part of the resolution, people round the world were called upon to participate in individual capacity and utilize their networks to celebrate diversity and inclusiveness.

Coronavirus, which emerged in the China's Wuhan city in December 2019, has so far infected over one million people, with over 50,000 deaths.

The virus has engulfed Europe and the United States with most number of deaths being recorded in Italy and New York. In view of the alarming situation, researchers and scientists across the globe are struggling to develop a vaccine.

Pakistan too is facing an increase in coronavirus cases on a daily basis. The government has taken various measures to contain spread of the disease, including imposing lockdown in the country.
