The police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested as many as 937 persons for defying lockdown in Karachi.
Some 281 cases have also been registered against the law breakers in different police stations of the metropolis.
On Wednesday, the city police had arrested some 772 accused and lodged some 215 FIRs against them for allegedly violating the article-144 of the constitution, and lockdown.
Like other parts of the country, a 15-day lockdown has been put into place in Karachi by the Sindh government to stem the further spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Meanwhile, the police is being criticised widely on social media for keeping the citizens in lockups, without ensuring precautionary measures to avoid the spread of the pandemic.
