Board of Investment (BoI) is organising on Friday (today) a Pakistan-Turkey Business Investment Forum to boost bilateral investment in both the countries. According to officials of the BoI, the business-to-business meetings started on Thursday. Subsequent to B2B meetings, panel discussions will take place on Friday.

First session will be on "Investment opportunities in Pakistan" and later "Turkish companies investment experience in Pakistan" will be discussed. Concluding session will be addressed by President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Pakistan will not only help strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries but will also help boost bilateral trade, according to officials of the BoI. Erdogan arrived in Islamabad on Thursday for a two-day official visit. In addition to a high-level diplomatic delegation, the president is accompanied by around n 60 Turkish businessmen and investors. The current trade volume between the two countries is around $900 million.

Turkey and Pakistan are engaged in the Strategic Economic Framework (SEF), which aims to boost the bilateral trade volume. In 2019, Turkey presented its proposals on the SEF to Islamabad with an aim to enhance bilateral trade.
