Chief of Jamiat Ullema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman on Friday slammed the PTI rule for 'high' inflation in the country, saying his party's anti-government drive will continue with one more protest rally in Lahore soon.

Addressing a press conference at Bait-ul-Rizwan - a resident of Maulana Shah Muhammad Owais Noorani - Secretary General of Jamiat Ullema-e-Pakistan, he said his party had set up a strong opposition bloc against the government, saying the coalition would hold a protest march in Lahore soon as part of the continuing drive. "We will not let the arena open for the government," he added.

He said the inflation was 'high' hurting hard the public, whose financial capacity to paying bills had exhausted, as they were unable to cope with the daily monetary challenges. "It is imperative to take to the streets against the inefficient rulers," Maulana asked the public, saying that "nothing good from the rulers can be expected". The JUI-F would underpin the poor public amid the inflation, he asserted, saying the public was worried from the daily items becoming costlier. "General public is undergoing a period of hopelessness," the JUI-F Chief claimed, announcing a protest rally for Feb 23 in Karachi. "Rehbar Committee has decided to hold protest on Feb 23 in the city," he added.
