The Sindh government released Rs 85 billion of Annual Development Programme (ADP) during the first half of fiscal year 2019-20, out of which Rs 50 billion were utilized. The utilization of funds came to more than 58 percent during the period under review. The total size of ADP stands at Rs 208 billion for the financial year 2019-20, Business Recorder learnt.

Sindh's department utilized only 30 percent of funds released for the schemes included in Annual Development Programme (ADP) in the first quarter of financial year 2019-20. The Sindh released Rs 45.981 billion or 22 percent, out of Rs 208 billion in July-September 2019-20.

A total of 2705 development schemes are included in ADP of current financial year, for which Rs 208 billion were set aside. Out of these schemes, Rs 161.742 billion were allocated for 1853 ongoing schemes and Rs 46.258 billion were earmarked for 852 new development schemes.

According to budget document of current financial year, Rs 3.750 billion were development schemes of Agriculture, Supply Prices Department and Rs.425 million were Auqaf, Zakat and Ushr Department. Rupees 1.350 billion were set aside for Board of Revenue and Rs 1.940 billion for culture and tourism, Rs 23 billion for education sector, Rs 1.308 billion for energy sector, Rs 281 million for Environment, Rs.96 million for Excise & Taxation, Rs 900 million for Finance.

Likewise, Rs 100 million for Food, Rs 1 billion for Forest & Wildlife, Rs 13.5 billion for health, Rs 1.639 billion for home, Rs 22 million for human rights, Rs 45 million for human settlements, Rs 22 billion for Irrigation, Rs.10 billion for lining of main canals, Rs 2.1 billion for livestock & fisheries, Rs.22.432 billion for local government & HTP, Rs.1.251 billion for industries & commerce.

Besides, Rs.17.816 billion for matching allocations, Rs 20 billion for public health engineering, Rs 12.227 billion for social protection & PRP, Rs.5 billion for Thar infrastructure development, Rs 24 billion for works & services, Rs 5.2 billion for transport & mass transit, Rs.6.518 billion for mega projects for Karachi city etc.
