Federal govt prepares legal draft to charge monthly fees from street vendors
- The street vendor will have to pay Rs500 on monthly basis.
- The license will not be transferred to anyone else.

In order to end unlicensed businesses, the federal government has prepared a legal draft for the street vendors.
As per details available, under the draft a person under the age of 14 will not be allowed to set up a stall, whereas, one cannot sell goods from one place to another. The license period for the street vendor will be five years, under which the street vendor will have to pay Rs500 on monthly basis. The license will not be transferred to anyone else.
According to the details mentioned in the draft, the local government will be able to change the area of ??the street vendor.
The text of the bill states that the local authorities are obliged to pay for the goods and damages in the event of consent to relocation. Whereas, punishment have also been proposed for the local government officials found disturbing the street vendors unnecessarily.
The relevant officer will be fined Rs20,000, for confiscating the goods of the vendor without any reason.
