ISLAMABAD: Atlas Honda Limited (AHL) has announced the profit of Rs.1.20 billion for the year ended on March 31, 2012, registering the rise of 16.73 per cent when compared with the profit of Rs.1.00 billion in the same period of the last year.

"Besides, the company has also announced the earning per share (EPS) of Rs.16.74 for the year ended on March 31 against Rs.13.94 EPS for the same period of last year", a statement released by the company said.

It said that the company recommended a final cash dividend of Rs.6.5 per share or 65 per cent and it recommended to issue bonus shares in the proportion of 3 bonus shares for every 20 shares held or 15 per cent.

Stock Analyst, Zaheer Ahmed told APP that the earning of the company was increased because of the reduction of the financial charges while the other operating income showed the negative growth.

He said that the financial charges had been decreased from Rs.11.71 million to Rs.93.47 million in the same period of last year.

"Moreover, the other income has witnessed the negative growth to Rs. 274.45 million in the current year from Rs.299.33 million", he added.

In April this year, the CPI, SPI and Wholesale Price Index (WPI) increased by 1.17 percent, 1.49 percent and 0.67 percent, respectively over the month of March 2012.

The trimmed core inflation for the month under review over April 2011 had been observed as 11 per cent while it was 12 per cent during April 2011 over April 2010.

The non-food and non-energy core inflation rate during previous month over the same month of last year was recorded as 10.8 per cent.

The items, which witnessed decrease in their prices during the month of April this year include onions, eggs, pulse mash (washed), spices, pulse masoor and pulse moong.

The items, which recorded increase in their prices included tomatoes, potatoes, chicken, fresh fruits, gram flour, fresh vegetables, cooking oil, milk powder, tea and beverages, motor fuel, firewood whole, transport services, ready-made garment and washing soap.
