PIA officials' detect illegal drugs at Laore airport

PIA officials' swift action resulted in detection of illegal drugs at Lahore airport. PIA security and ground support officials found 03 mysterious packets in an empty ULD luggage container at the yard area at Lahore airport. PIA security and ground handling officials immediately contacted the concerned agencies including ANF and security agencies. The ANF officials inspected the 03 bags which contained illegal drugs and took in their custody. Further investigations are underway by security agencies, PIA spokesman concluded.

PIA believes in Zero tolerance towards corruption; PIA security in coordination with Airport police identified two employees involved in theft from passengers' baggage and were handed over to Airport Police.

A complaint was filled with PIA and Airport Police by husband of a passenger who traveled by PIA from Karachi to Multan regarding theft of valuables from the luggage.

The Police team upon interrogation recovered Rs. 4 lacs from the culprits and a case registered against the accused. PIA security personnel has incorporated measures in collaboration with Airport Police Station to check these happenings and are working in close coordination with SHO Airport Police Station Kaleem and his team to apprehend such culprits, PIA spokesman concluded.-PR
