Provincial president, ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Aimal Wali Khan has imposed cash penalties on over hundred members of the provincial and central council including his cousin Lowangeen Wali Khan for remaining absent from the party meetings without submission of leave application or prior intimation.

Lowangeen Wali Khan is the grandson of late ANP Rehbar and veteran politician Abdul Wali Khan and son of Sangeen Wali Khan. In last two months the ANP provincial chief has stripped several senior party leaders including the lone party Senator, Sitara Ayaz of the party membership.

Lowangeen Wali Khan is the member of the provincial council of ANP for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The new development of the imposition of cash penalty of Rs 10,000 on Lowangeen Wali Khan has also raised eyebrows regarding what is going on in the Pakhtun nationalist ANP.

Begum Nasim Wali, the former iron lady of ANP, the grandmother of Lowangeen Wali Khan had also remained at odds with Asfandyar Wali Khan for the rights of her grandson. But, later their differences were settled down through reconciliation of senior party leaders.

The letter written by Aimal Wali Khan has reminded Lowangeen Wali Khan that a meeting of the provincial council of ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 11, 2019 that was also followed by a meeting of the provincial working committee and you (Lowangeen Wali Khan) remained absent from the meeting without any reason.

The letter said that after consultations with the members it has been decided that a penalty of Rs 10,000 is being imposed on each absent member.

Therefore, you are requested to kindly deposit the amount with Bacha Khan Markaz within a period of 10 days. When this scribe contacted the ANP provincial general secretary, Sardar Hussain Babak confirmed the imposition of penalty on Lowangeen Wali Khan. However, he clarified that such the penalty is not only imposed on Lowangeen Wali Khan rather also on over hundred other such members.

He said under the party manifesto, any member of the central or provincial council is required to tell about the reason behind remaining absent from the party meetings.

Meanwhile, a consultative meeting of the ANP's think-tank held Wali Bagh, Charsadda with party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan in the chair unanimously decided to support any decision taken by the Rehber Committee of the opposition parties regarding Azadi March.

Those who attended the party meeting were included Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Zahid Khan, Syed Aqil Shah, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, provincial president, Sindh Shahi Said, provincial president Punjab Manzoor Khan, president Pakhtunkhwa Aimal Wali and general secretary KP province, Sardar Hussain Babak.
