Blaming Disney for cutting ties with Sony Pictures, Sony has now officially announced that Spider-Man franchise is no longer part of Marvel Studios.

Sony announced Tuesday night that they are ‘disappointed’ over the decision, highlighting Disney’s refusal to allow Marvel President Kevin Feige to continue as a producer on the projects.

“Much of today's news about Spider-Man has mischaracterised recent discussions about Kevin Feige's involvement in the franchise. We are disappointed, but respect Disney's decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film,” they said in their official statement on Twitter.

The statement further reads, “We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him — including all their newly added Marvel properties — do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own. Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue.”

Now, the Spider-Man movies will go without involving of any Marvel character.

Deadline reported that a high-level dispute between the two companies means Marvel Studios President Feige won't produce any more Spider-Man films, and that Marvel will no longer be involved in the Spidey movie universe.

Marvel hasn’t issue any official statement about the recent issue yet. #SaveSpiderman has been trending on internet since yesterday.
