PESHAWAR: Minister for Industries Samiullah Khan Alizai Thursday underscored the need for giving maximum facilities to the local and foreign investors for taping the industrial potential of Khyber Pakthunkwa.
Speaking at a briefing by the officials of the Small Industrial Development Board after assuming the portfolio of Industry, Alizai said the country in general and the KP in particular has a lot of potential which if properly exploited could address the problem of unemployment.
He maintained the foreign and local investors could be attracted by giving them industrial incentives, reviving sick units and establishing new industrial estates along the Motorway and Indus Highway.
The industrial estates in the province offered great investment opportunities and the investors could be asked to come forwards and helped the government in promoting industrialization.
He also urged the officials of SIDB to utilize their best energies for the promotion of industrial sector as the dream of prospers KP sans industrial development was not possible.
However at the same time he also called for protecting rights of the industrial workers and the department should play the role of a bridge between the employers and employees for maintaining cordial relations. "We will work as a team for the development of the province", he added.
He said he would bring the mega feasible projects in the notice of Chief Minister KP who was keen in the industrial uplift of the province.
Earlier Managing Director SIDB briefed the Minister about the aims and objectives of the SIDB and the ongoing and new proposed projects.
Chairman Sarhad Development Authority, Deputy Director IMP, Deputy Managing Director Estate and Joint Director were present on the occasion.
