Karan Johar ropes in Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor as leads for ‘Dostana 2’

Putting all speculations to rest, Karan Johar has announced the sequel of his iconic film ‘Dostana’ with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The ace director-producer made the announcement on Twitter on Thursday.

“The return of the franchise with unlimited madness. Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor & a soon to be launched fresh face - making it the trio for #Dostana2, directed by  Collin Dcunha. Watch out for the third suitable boy,” KJo wrote.

The expectations are high after looking at the trio of Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan rocking in the first installment.

While Kartik became Bollywood’s chocolate boy when his movie ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ hit the screens in 2011, Janhvi made her debut last year with Shashank Khaitan's ‘Dhadak’ and instantly became tinsel town's favourite.

Currently, Kartik is shooting for ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ with Sara Ali Khan and will also be seen with Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar in ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ remake. Janhvi has the Gunjan Saxena biopic in her kitty and ‘RoohiAfza’ with Rajkummar Rao.
