ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar said steps were being taken to end loadshedding in due course of time.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that after devolution of power under the PPP-led coalition government, the provinces have been authorised to take initiative for power generation.
He said that difference between demand and supply of power is the major reason. Therefore, it would take some time to end power shortage, he added.
The Minister said that government is focusing on Thar Coal project from where thousands of megawatt of electricity can be produced while work is in progress on Neelam-Jehulam project also.
