Struggling Mohammad Amir ‘still’ among Pakistan’s best says Wasim Akram

Pakistan former captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram come out in support of the struggling speedster Mohmm

Pakistan former captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram come out in support of the struggling speedster Mohmmad Amir, calling him ‘one of the best bowlers’ Pakistan have at its disposal ahead of the World Cup 2019.

“Amir is still one of the best bowlers we have, he can swing the ball he is just not getting wickets, this is my take as an ex cricketer and ex captain,” said Akram, while talking to media persons.

Talking about the World Cup, the Sultan of Swing said that Pakistan cricket team has the got their chances in the tournament, however, the former captain reminded that no ‘fluke’ would work this time for any side. "This year's World Cup is the same format as it was at the 1992 World Cup. You cannot win this World Cup with a fluke, you will have to play well to win it," said Akram.

Discussing teen fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain, Akram opined that the teenager should play more international cricket in order to improve his fitness and confidence.

"What do you want to do by holding Mohammad Hasnain? When I came to the team I was 17 and had not played any cricket. The same case was with Waqar Younis who came at the age 18 and had hardly played any First-class. The more he [Hasnain] stays around the team the more his confidence & fitness will improve."
