Institutions to cooperate with PTI govt to make corruption free society
ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media Affairs Iftikhar Durrani Friday said the national institutions should cooperate with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to make corruption free society.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had struggled for 22 years to create corruption free society and everybody should now contribute their services for this noble cause, he said while talking to a private news channel.
He said the PTI government has no concern on arrest of any corrupt but anti-corruption drive should not be stopped in the country.
The PTI government was determined to eliminate the menace of corruption from the country, he added. The Special Assistant said PTI had won the general election 2018 with thumping majority due to its manifesto of wiping out corruption from the country.
Durrani said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was investigating the cases independently but the Opposition was propagating that accountability was holding on directives of the present government which was wrong perception.
He said three leaders of PTI including Babar Awaz, Azam Swati and Aleem Khan had resigned from their office merely on allegations against them.
He said Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif should quit from the Chairmanship of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) because he was not an honest person and involved in many corruption cases.
Shehbaz Sharif wanted to put pressure on national institutions through Standing Committees to get relief in the cases that was why he was not resigning from PAC chairmanship, he stated.
To a question, he said the name of Prime Minister Imran Khan was not mentioned in Panama Papers and any offshore company.
The Supreme Court had declared Imran Khan an honest and righteous person. He said the PTI government, under dynamic leadership of Imran Khan was committed to streamline the system as national economy was improving.
