North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) and Police Department jointly devised a special security plan to control robbery and crime incidents in NK industrial area during Eid al-Adha. In this regard, NKATI president Syed Tariq Rashid presided over a meeting in which strict measures of security and monitoring of criminal elements in the area came under discussion. The meeting noted that the criminal elements increase their activities specially robberies during public holidays such as Eid when workers return to their homes due to factories closures.
NKATI president expressed satisfaction over deployment of 'Special Police Force' for North Karachi Industrial Area by SSP Central Arif Aslam Rao on their request which, he said, would help ensure security-proof arrangements. During the meeting, NKATI and police officers jointly chalked out a "Special Security Plan" for the North Karachi Industrial Area. They decided to close internal and external routes of the industrial area during Eidul-Adha holidays.
In addition to police patrolling, strict checking would be carried out and vehicles carrying goods leaving the industrial area would not be allowed without permission of NKATI. NKATI leaders appreciated police performance of the police for arresting members of the gang involved in more than 100 robbery cases.
DSP New Karachi Shakeel Awan, SHO North Karachi Industrial Area Mohammad Rashid, SHO Gabol Town Sohail Ahmed, SO New Karachi Nazir Rajpar and SVP NKATI Azfar Hussain, VP Faisal Shabu, board chairman Sadiq Muhammad, chief crime monitoring cell Farooq Khatura and member executive committee Shehzad Elahi also attended the meeting.
