A sessions court on Saturday reserved verdict on a petition of former law minister Punjab, Rana Sanaullah Khan who is seeking permission to have home-cooked food in jail. Farhad Ali Shah, representing the petitioner, contended that the health of his client was not good. He said that the petitioner, before his arrest, had been consuming food on the advice of his personal doctor.
The counsel said health of the petitioner might deteriorate if he was not provided home-cooked food in jail. An official of the prisons department told the court that the petitioner had been served with food as per his health in jail. He said the medical condition of the petitioner was good as jail doctors conduct his examination every day.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict. ANF had arrested Rana Sanaullah Khan on July 01 in a narcotics case and a judicial magistrate had sent him on judicial remand next day. The ANF personnel recovered 15-kg heroin from possession of Rana Sana and lodged a case under section 9 (C) of Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997 against him.
