From real to reel: Sara Ali Khan to join Saif Ali Khan in ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’

Actress Sara Ali Khan is one of the hot properties in Bollywood these days ever since she made her debut earlier this year. After the success of ‘Simmba’, she might be cast alongside father Saif Ali Khan in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’.

‘Love Aaj Kal’ is Imtiaz Ali’s 2009 hit film starring Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. Now the makers are planning its sequel with Sara as a female lead, while the male-lead is yet to be confirmed.

A source told DNA India, “Saif has been roped in to play an important role in the rom-com, which will be a sequel to his own hit film Love Aaj Kal. This will be the first time that Saif will be sharing screen space with his daughter Sara. It’s not just a cameo but a full-fledged role. He will play the role of Sara’s father on screen as well.”

While Kareena Kapoor Khan happens to be Sara's stepmother, 'Simmba' director Rohit Shetty had last month gone on record to say that Sara looks a great deal like Karisma Kapoor.

Sara’s second film ‘Simmba’ has given her an entry into the Rs 200 crore club. ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’, if confirmed, will be her third film. In all her interviews she has mentioned that she is a typical commercial heroine but would like to experiment with new genres.
