Divisional Commissioner Mehmud Javed Bhatti has directed for the early disposal of rain water from the low lying areas and city roads so that normal life of the citizens could not be affected. He issued these directions while inspecting the situation of rain water during the visit of different localities of the city. MD WASA Faqir Ahmad Ch and other officers were also accompanied him.
The Commissioner visited Allama Iqbal Colony, D Type Colony, Samundri road, Dijkot road, Samnabad, Sir Syed Town, Jhang raod, Jinnah Colony, Gurunanik Pura, Gulberg, G. M. Abaad, Sargodha road, Iqbal Stadium, Jail road and other adjoining areas during the rain and reviewed the disposal of rain water. He directed the WASA officers to remain active in the field during rain and prompt measures should be taken for the disposal of rain water by removing all the obstacles hindering the flow of water.
He said that WASA services should be active as per the expectations of the public. The Commissioner urged upon taking coordinated measures in case of wind and rain storms to make the city clean and dry. He said that WASA, PHA, Faisalabad Waste Management Company and Municipal Corporation should perform their services efficiently for the relief of public. He asked the Chief Traffic Officer for better traffic management during the rain and wind storm.
MD WASA Faqir Muhammad Ch informed the Divisional Commissioner about the duty roaster of the field staff and said that special instructions had been given to the staff for keeping the disposal stations active and discharge of rain water from the low lying areas.
