The country's total liquid foreign exchange reserves declined by $169 million during last week due to external debt servicing. According to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) weekly review report issued Thursday, Pakistan's total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $17.228 billion by week ended April 5, 2019 compared to $17.398 billion as on March 29, 2019.
During the week, the SBP's reserves decreased by $220 million to $10.271.9 billion due to external debt servicing and other official payments. Reserves held by the banks surged by $51 million to $6.956 billion by the end of last week.
