While the provincial home department has accorded approval for shifting of Nawaz Sharif to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) from Services Hospital, the former prime minister has declined to be shifted to the PIC. Nawaz Sharif has asked the Services Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) that he didn't want to be shifted to the PIC. "I had already been shifted to the PIC before being taken to Services Hospital," Nawaz was quoted as having said.
On the other hand, spokesperson for Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Gull said the provincial government has decided to keep Nawaz Sharif in Services Hospital, adding that the doctors from the PIC will check Nawaz Sharif at Services Hospital.
The spokesperson prayed for Sharif's health and also requested his family not to do politics on this issue. "Sharif is in jail and he is not the one who will take decisions," he added.
Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz also visited Services Hospital to inquire about the health of her father. The sources claimed that Nawaz Sharif was of the view that the PIC had earlier mishandled his heart problem.
The sources added that the PIC administration had allocated CCU room for Nawaz Sharif. Prof Dr Nadeem Hayat Malik is incharge of the CCU. The sources claimed that Prof. Dr Nadeem Hayat Malik will carry out check up of Nawaz Sharif at the Services Hospital.
