Sindh Chief Minister's Adviser on Law, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, played down the PTI MPA's draft adjournment mention, citing that any matter sub judice to the courts cannot be discussed in the Assembly according to the rules and regulations of the provincial legislature.
"Had they read rules of business, PTI wouldn't have submitted the motion," he told the media after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmaker Khurram Sher Zaman filed an adjournment motion in the Sindh Assembly to discuss the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Report on the money-laundering case in which Pakistan Peoples Party leader Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah have also been named.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the JIT report was not a holy scripture and they would appeal against it. He made it clear that it is Speaker's prerogative to decide on a debate on the adjournment motion in the House. He accused Sindh Governor Imran Ismail of having been involved in unconstitutional practices by use of his office for political activities.
The adviser said Sind governor himself admitted he followed his party (PTI) policies. He said a governor is a representative who is appointed by the president and Sindh government bears all his expenses. Barrister Wahab blamed the PTI for hatching conspiracies in the past and would continue to do so in future too. "Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry who hails from PTI will see during his Karachi visit that all 99 MPAs of the PPP are firmly standing behind its leadership," he said.
