Game of Thrones new clip shows Daenerys meeting Sansa in Winterfell

HBO teased fans with a new clip from Game of Thrones final season, quenching the extreme thirst of fans but leaving them wanting for more.

The brief clip has been released by HBO in a trailer showing shows that are returning this year on the channel. The hit show is returning with its last season, which will hit screens in April this year.

The new footage begins with a brief shot of one of Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons and a top view of Winterfell. It goes on to show the tension-filled meeting between Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke, and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).

Daenerys is seen setting foot on Winterfell soil for the first time, as she approaches Sansa alongside Jorah Mormont (yes he has returned to his Khaleesi’s side). “Winterfell is yours, your grace,” Sansa tells Daenerys, who is standing beside Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) smiling. Brienne of Tarth, portrayed by Gwendoline Christie, is also seen behind Sansa as she hands over Winterfell’s hold to Daenerys.

Interestingly, Sansa says the same words her father Ned Stark said to the then-king Robert Baratheon on his arrival in Winterfell in season 1. “Guarding the north for you your grace, Winterfell is yours,” Ned said to King Robert.

Season 7 ended with Daenerys and Jon falling in love without them being aware that they're actually related and the Night King bringing down the wall with the help of one of Daenerys’ resurrected dragons.

Along with Game of Thrones, the new video released by HBO also included first footage of True Detective, Watchmen and Big Little Lies.
