The estranged workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday stormed party headquarter - Insaf House - by restoring to vandalism and destruction at its premises. The workers of the party turned violent reportedly over distribution of party tickets in Karachi for the upcoming general elections in 2018. "Workers were apparently estranged over not awarding ticket to someone", leader of PTI, Imran Ismaeel told the media.
Like the other parts of the country, PTI's parliamentary board is busy in interviewing the aspirants for party tickets and distribution of tickets to those who meet the criteria. A large number of supporters of the aspirants also flocked to the Insaf House where parliamentary board is engaged in his work. However, the situation turned violent in afternoon when the graffiti appeared on the walls of Insaf House against parliamentary board. The walls were inscribed with anti-parliamentary board slogans everywhere. The workers also broke the windowpanes of party office with the floor of the office littered with broken windows and furniture.
Workers also besieged President of PTI Karachi Chapter Firdous Shamim Naqwi and a leading figure of party ex-MNA Arif Alvi and raised slogans against them. Ali Zaid, central leader of party announced that action would be taken against those workers who resorted to violence at the party office.
