Zahir Dad, a key leader of Swabi Qaumi Mahaz (SQM) and youth councilor of Maneri Bala who was seriously injured in a firing incident three days back succumbed to his injuries in the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar on Monday.
Zahir was very close to former MPA, Babar Saleem, elected as youth councillor in the last local government elections. The deceased was also a rent car owner. Three days back when he along with his blood relative Munazir Khan and two other people were on way to Swabi from Peshawar in his car.
The rivals of the latter who chased them opened fire on them near Swabi interchange, Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway. The two people were killed on the spot and both Zahir and Munazir were seriously injured. Zahir was shot in neck.
