The lack of quorum hounded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly even on its last working day before its dissolution on mid-night of Monday. The provincial assembly stands dissolved on completion of its terms five (05) years at 12:00 A.M (midnight) on 28.05.2015.
The proceeding of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was scheduled to begin from 11:00 A.M. However, due to the lack of interest by the legislators it was delayed due to the lack of quorum. The proceedings begin after delay of 45 minutes with member panel of chairmen, Mahmood Jan in the chair.
Soon after recitation from the Holy Qur'aan, Ziaullah Afridi of PPP and Askar Pervez of JUI-F pinpointed the lack of quorum to the chair, who directed counting and then ringing bells to attract legislators towards the house.
The chair repeated the ringing of bells for three consecutive times and on failure, he said that today the assembly is completing its five years term, which is a matter of happiness.
