KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for acceleration of pace of work on Havilian-Domthor Bridge and in future turning it into dual carriage in future and maintaining its suitable expansion and block topping in mountainous areas. He issued these directives while presiding over a review meeting regarding promotion of tourism including Dir Road via Kumraat, Abbottabad Bypass, Havilian-Domthor, Ayub Bridge Hazara and infrastructure development projects in Kalam.
During the meeting, the chief minister was given detailed briefing regarding different road projects, link roads, motorway and Abbottabad Bypass. He was also briefed regarding different projects including those initiated by the FWO, provincial government's projects, funds and their timely utilization.
The chief minister directed the FWO for acceleration of the pace of work on in different areas, opening of different areas for tourism purpose and expansion of roads. The officials of the FWO assured that further steps would be taken as already evolved procedure and the pace of work on the construction and expansion of roads in Abbottabad and other areas will be further accelerated.
The chief minister expressed the hope that the early completion of these roads minimize load on the central road leading to Abbottabad. He said the completion of these projects and promotion of tourism on pattern of industry will generate employment opportunities in the area and will generate revenue for the provincial exchequer.
Similarly, he said that the completion of the projects will also usher economic activities. The project initiated through FWO will cost Rs 1.2 billion and will open different new tourists' spots and the local 0.3 million population will also be benefited from it.
Stressing on the linking of Kalam with Kumraat via Dir, the chief minister said that these attractive tourists sports are being developed on touristic pattern and in future the tourism will play a major in the economic activities of the province. The chief minister said that development projects will not only opened these areas for tourism and will minimize distance rather will also generate employment opportunities for the local residents.
