SANAA: A local al-Qaeda leader in Yemen was killed by his half-brother early Thursday in an armed attack on his stronghold southeast of the capital Sanaa, his family said.
Tarek al-Dahab "was killed by his half-brother Hizam in the town of Al-Manasah," a family fiefdom in Bayda province, a family member told AFP without giving reasons for the slaying.
Dahab had in January taken over control of the town of Radah but later withdrew from the area.
