SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were down slightly in early trade Thursday as investors took profits, following falls in US stocks overnight on worries over Europe's debt crisis, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was down 0.22 percent, or 5.32 points, at 2,361.39.
