ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior on Wednesday unanimously passed, The Provincial Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Bill, 2011.
The committee met at National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Headquarters under the Chairmanship of MNA Abdul Qadir Patel.
Chief Commissioner, Islamabad, Tariq Mehmood Prizada briefed the Committee in detailed regarding, 'The Provincial Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Bill, 2011.'
MNA Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, mover of the (NADRA Amendment) Bill, 2012 and Passports (Amendment) Bill, 2012 briefed the Committee.
The Committee agreed with the both bills and constituted a Sub-Committee under the convener ship of MNA Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk to further discuss these bills.
The Committee also directed Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to redraft the NADRA Bill as directed by the Committee.
NADRA (Amendment) Bill, 2012 moved by MNA Khurram Jehangir Wattoo has been deferred due to his absence in the meeting.
While, matter concerning to justification for non-issuance of Arms Licences to National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and Pakistan Origin Card (POC) holders, the Committee decided to constitute a Sub-Committee under the convenership of MNA Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani to resolve the issue within one month.
The Committee has also discussed the matter regarding the Free Movement, display of weapons by the Banned Organizations and constitutes a Sub-Committee under the Convener-ship of MNA Sheikh Waqqas Akram.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk, Sheikh Waqqas Akram, Tanzeela Aamir Cheema, Bushra Gohar, officials Ministry of Interior.
